Speech Language Pathologist

A little about me…

Hi! I’m Ashley, and I am a licensed pediatric speech language pathologist and clinical educator. Over the course of my career, the majority of my clinical experiences have focused on supporting children and young adults with disabilities and/or diagnoses including developmental delay, Autism, Angelman Syndrome, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and various genetic disorders. I am an advocate for high quality instruction that is inclusive. I support agency, student voice and choice, and hold high expectations for all learners.

I have extensive training in the use of Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC) and literacy instruction for students with significant disabilities. I consider myself a lifelong learner, and believe one of the most effective methods for deepening my own understanding of content is by teaching others. I have presented at local and national conferences, written articles, and spoke on several podcasts about AAC, literacy, and designing engaging learning experiences.

In addition to my clinical work, I serve as a clinical educator at St. Xavier University. I believe in the importance of pre-service education for future clinicians and provide training, coaching, and instruction to graduate student clinicians. I have previously taught courses on the integration of technology into the field of speech-language pathology, and recently launched an AAC Book Club which focuses on enhancing literacy skills for AAC users through engaging texts and explicit literacy instruction.
